Cristina Poggi is Italian, born in Florence, and graduated from the University of Florence with the bachelor degree in Radiologic Sciences.

She began working as Radiographer in 1993 and over the years gained experience in various image modalities, including a master of first level in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

She then decided to dedicate herself to the field of senology, and to education and training in mammography and in MRI, taking care to constantly update her training standards as recommended by the European guidelines on the subject, for breast health care professionals.

Ms. Poggi is the leader of the project of Quality Monitoring of Breast Radiographers’ Performance in Tuscany Central Area and has been chosen to represent it in the regional project of QA in mammography. She has provided consultation and delivered lectureships for many health centers in Italy in the last ten years.

Currently she is serving as member of the Scientific Committee in FASTER, the Federation of Scientific Associations of Italian RTs, and started studying for the Master’s degree in Radiologic Sciences. Ms. Poggi is also a contributing author for Mammography Educators.

She lives just ten minutes from the Florentine Cathedral, in the hills near the town, with her daughter Bianca and her partner Duccio. In her spare time, she loves walking in the forests, and traveling, but most of all, she loves teaching.
