Deborah (Deb) Hamel, A.S., R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT), CN-BI, currently works as a mammographer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and as a per diem mammographer at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. Prior to working at Dana-Farber, Deb worked at Derry Imaging Center and Lowell General Hospital.
In her over 30 years of mammography experience, Deb has been involved in staff trainings, implementation of ACR accreditation requirements, stereotactic biopsies and breast tomosynthesis training. She is an expert in mammography positioning training, workflow analysis, and the MQSA/FDA inspection process.
Deb has mentored and trained under Louise Miller and is proud to be a consultant for Mammography Educators where she is able to spread her love of teaching, while sharing knowledge and techniques that leave mammographers both new and old rejuvenated about themselves and their profession. In 2015, Deb received certification as a Breast Imaging Navigator by the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC).
Deb lives in New Hampshire with her husband. She has two children, two stepchildren, and two grandchildren. She enjoys sewing, crafts, baking, and designing specialty homemade birthday cakes for family and friends.
