BREAST IMAGING CONSULTANT

Emily currently works as a Breast Imaging Consultant for Mammography Educators, with previous breast imaging experience as a staff mammographer, quality coordinator, lead technologist, and educator. Her extensive experience and training were primarily acquired at the University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS) in Kansas City, where she served as staff educator, trainer, and coach for positioning, protocols, and procedures.

Emily possesses expertise in various areas, including ACR Accreditation, as well as EQUIP and MQSA Inspection guidelines. Her knowledge extends to quality control, stereotactic biopsies, contrast enhanced mammography (CEM), CEM biopsy procedures, and pathology. 

She is proficient in troubleshooting and equipment orientation, developing protocols and workflows, and coordinating new equipment installations and facility setups. Emily has also taught as an adjunct instructor at Cleveland University in Overland Park, Kansas in the radiologic technology program. 

Emily has a strong passion for teaching, educating, and guiding others utilizing The Miller MethodTM, which she had the privilege of mastering under the mentorship of Ms. Louise Miller, R.T.(R)(M) during her tenure at TUKHS. She believes standardized positioning is a critical foundation for achieving the best outcomes, for both mammographers and their patients, by promoting proper ergonomics, enhancing patient comfort, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys quality time with her family, including many nephews and nieces, exercising, reading, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
