TITLE: "Understanding the Breast Biopsy Journey: What Every Mammographer Should Know"
SPEAKER: Dr. Kristen Zarfos
CEU: Earn 1 Category-A CEU* with Live Attendance
DESCRIPTION: As technologists, you are often the first and most trusted point of contact for patients facing a breast biopsy, and many patients turn to you with questions about what happens next. In this empowering webinar, Dr. Kristen Zarfos will walk through the journey after a breast biopsy. You’ll learn how patients are informed of their results, what different pathology outcomes mean, and what follow-up is typically recommended. We will also cover what patients experience physically and emotionally after a needle biopsy, including common changes to the breast that you may be asked about. For patients diagnosed with malignancy, we'll discuss the next steps in their care, the importance of care team communication and how the pathology report shapes the treatment plan. You'll leave this session with a stronger understanding of the full patient journey and how you play a vital role in supporting and educating women during this critical time.
