No mammography experience is required, though all students must meet at least ONE of the following prerequisites: Current licensure as a certified Radiologic Technologist by the Radiologic Health Branch in state of residence or Active licensure as a registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

We recommend that you take the exam within a timely manner so the information is fresh in your mind. ARRT states that you must have earned all credits within 24 months of the date you apply for certification and registration in the new discipline. In addition, we encourage you to check with your individual state regarding specific requirements for licensing in your practicing state and/or receiving their advanced certification in mammography.
