Incoming Director of Education

Millicent (Millie) Castellanos serves as Incoming Director of Education for Mammography Educators, where she leads the development and delivery of innovative breast imaging education programs. Her journey with the company began as a Breast Imaging Consultant, where her passion for teaching, commitment to excellence, and dedication to improving patient care quickly distinguished her as a leader within the organization. Millie was mentored and trained by renowned mammography educator Ms. Louise Miller, mastering The Miller Methodâ„¢ and carrying forward its legacy of positioning excellence.

Prior to joining Mammography Educators, Millie served as Lead Radiologic Technologist at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center in San Diego, California.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences/Radiologic Technology from California State University, Northridge in 2005 and obtained her mammography certification in 2007. Throughout her clinical career, she gained extensive experience performing both screening and diagnostic mammography while developing expertise in breast imaging quality, patient care, and departmental operations.

As a participant in Mammography Educators’ Train-the-Trainer Mammography Program, Millie embraced standardized positioning techniques and quickly became a trusted educator and consultant. Her experiences traveling to imaging centers across the country, mentoring technologists, and helping facilities elevate image quality inspired her to expand her impact through education. She brings extensive experience in Digital Mammography, Breast Tomosynthesis, Quality Control, and MQSA compliance, and has assisted numerous facilities in preparing for successful inspections and accreditation reviews.

Millie is deeply passionate about advancing breast imaging excellence and improving outcomes for women through education. As Director of Education, she is dedicated to developing meaningful learning experiences that empower technologists to strengthen their skills, build confidence, and provide the highest quality patient care. She is proud to share her knowledge, enthusiasm, and The Miller Methodâ„¢ with breast imaging professionals throughout the United States and around the world.

Millie lives in sunny San Diego with her husband and two children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, exploring new destinations, and making memories on family trips, especially to Disneyland Park.
