TERRY LEHMANN

BREAST IMAGING CONSULTANT
Terry has dedicated the majority of her radiology career to academic medicine. For many years, she worked for the University of California, and oversaw the installation of San Diego County’s first Full Field Digital Mammography unit. Terry also oversaw the opening of the Imaging Department at UCSD Moores Cancer Center, the region’s only NCI-designated cancer center. As part of that project, she assisted with workflow analysis, departmental design, equipment selection, and staff orientation and training. In her last appointment with UCSD, she was the Director of Clinical Operations for Radiology.
Terry’s education and training as a science teacher have uniquely equipped her to continue teaching in the field of radiology.
As an adjunct professor, Ms. Lehmann taught in the San Diego Mesa College Radiologic Technology program for over 20 years. During this time, she was a Classroom Lecturer, Directed Clinical Practice Instructor, and served on the Curriculum Development Committee for the college.
Terry has been Co-Director of the UCSD Mammography Practicum for Technologists’ Initial Training program for 30 years with Louise Miller. She has been an invited lecturer for NCBC, the SBI, and QCC educational conferences. Ms. Lehmann has also volunteered her time teaching internationally with Ms. Miller in Israel and Jordan.
She currently works for the Department of Defense as Academic Coordinator in the Breast Health Center at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Terry is responsible for the training of active duty medical corpsmen and serves as the mammography subject matter resource expert for Navy Medicine West. In that role, she developed and implemented a mammography technologist training and mentorship program. She has developed universal imaging protocols and policy and procedures for military installations both stateside and internationally. In addition, Terry is responsible for providing annual CME for department technologists.
Terry is the mother of two adult sons, Jason and Joshua and in her spare time enjoys singing with the San Diego Masterwork Chorale, gardening, photography, travel, and her beloved dogs.
